SBP to announce financial coverage on Monday

KARACHI: State Financial institution of Pakistan’s (SBP) Financial Coverage Committe (MPC) is about to announce the financial coverage on Monday. 

In accordance with an announcement issued by the central financial institution, SBP Governor Dr Reza Baqir will temporary the media after the MPC assembly.

A report revealed by The Information means that the benchmark coverage fee is predicted to stay unchanged. 

Earlier the SBP governor had mentioned that the central financial institution is taking “a pause to first take a look at the consequences of the tightening [it has done] earlier than contemplating what financial coverage settings needs to be.”

In its final assembly on December 14, 2021, the MPC had raised the coverage fee by 100 foundation factors to 9.75 per cent to counter inflationary pressures and handle the present account deficit.
