The company has announced the appointment of Ronald Bolaños as chief underwriting officer and Manuel Moreno as president of LSM US and Latin America. Bolaños and Moreno will be based in Miami. Both appointments are effective immediately.

Bolaños will report to Matthew Moore, president of underwriting, Global Risk Solutions (GRS) and Phil Hobbs, president and managing director of LSM.

“Many congratulations to Ronald and Manuel on their promotions,” Hobbs said. “Both combine great leadership skills and in-depth technical ability.”

In his new role, Bolaños will be responsible for driving underwriting performance across all LSM products.

“Ronald has led LSM’s US and Latin America Business since 2020 and has built a strong, market-leading team,” Hobbs said. “His underwriting expertise and significant business and market knowledge make him the ideal candidate for LSM CUO.”

Moreno will take on his new role while maintaining his existing position as chief underwriting officer for LSM US and Latin America. In his new role, he will report to Bolaños and Hobbs. Moreno will be responsible for leading LSM’s performance in the US and Latin America, developing new partnerships in the region and building on existing ones.

“As CUO, Manuel has delivered excellent underwriting results and an in-depth understanding of the diverse market in the region,” Hobbs said. “He is perfectly placed to continue LSM’s growth and development in the US and Latin America. Both appointments demonstrate LSM’s commitment to delivering for our partners.”

Earlier this month, LSM announced the appointment of Andrew Jackson as global head of business development and market management. In November, Liberty Mutual Reinsurance named Dionne Chisholm as senior underwriting executive.
